FA Cup first round draw details confirmed as Sheffield Wednesday wait to discover opponents

The draw for the first round of the FA Cup will take place this Monday.

Sheffield Wednesday will discover who they will face in the first round of the FA Cup on Monday evening.

It has been announced that the draw will take place at approximately 6.35 pm and will be available to watch on TNT Sports 1, HBO Max and the TNT Sports YouTube channel. The programme will begin at 6.30 pm.

Following their relegation from the Championship last season, Wednesday will enter the FA Cup at the first-round stage this season, alongside their 23 League One counterparts and all 24 League Two clubs.

The first round of the competition will take place over the weekend of 7–8 November, meaning Wednesday’s first FA Cup outing of the season will be sandwiched between a League One home clash against Blackpool and their final group-stage fixture in the Jersey Mike’s Trophy against Accrington Stanley.

The Owls, who last entered the FA Cup at the first round stage in 2022/23 before enjoying a run to the fourth round, exited the competition at the first hurdle last season after a youthful team was beaten 2-0 by Premier League side Brentford at Hillsborough at the third-round stage.

With the draw scheduled to take place on Monday, following the conclusion of this weekend’s fourth qualifying round ties, the ball numbers have been confirmed, with Wednesday assigned ball No. 39.
