The cup, as well as being a bit of fun at a difficult time for many, will also raise funds for a host of charities, as well as EFL clubs likely to take a massive hit due to lost match day revenue. Over £2000 has been raised so far.

Clubs from across Europe signed up in their droves to play a part in the digital tournament, which will see a mixture of Esports pros and top level footballers represent their clubs.

Given the desperate lack of real football going on at the moment, the bookies have got in on the action, and William Hill have named the Owls as second favourites to win the competition at 8/1, behind Benfica at 6/1.

The exact details of when the tournament will take place are yet to be announced, but all the matches will be streamed online for free, allowing fans to get their football fix.
