DAVE Jones is not the only manager for whom Milan Mandaric is full of admiration.
The Owls chairman is unwavering in his belief that Harry Redknapp should be the next England boss.
Redknapp has made his mark at Spurs but it was at Portsmouth where Mandaric was his boss for four years and gained an insight into his ability.
“Harry is a special football man,” says the Wednesday chief.
“I think England should have an English manager; he is a perfect guy. He’ll get the best out of the players; my understanding of a good manager is that he is the one who can get the best out of players.
“Harry is a superb guy for something like that.
“And of course he’s the darling of the football world to become England manager - until he loses two or three games!
“I don’t think there’s a better man for the job.”
Mandaric also rates Nigel Pearson highly as a club manager and as a “good guy”. They worked together at Leicester until the ex-Owls captain left for Hull (later to return to Leicester).
“I didn’t let him go,” says the chairman. “The reason he left was the new owners (of Leicester) wanted to make the change, not me.”
