Have your say

It’s nice to have some football to talk about rather than takeover stuff, or should that be fakeover?

Anyway, it was a cracking if tiring trip to Brighton last Saturday but well worth it, the stadium is excellent, including real ale on the concourses, but shame about the location and post-match getaway.

We delivered an excellent away performance, imbued with discipline and good organisation, that limited Brighton to one shot that caused Westwood any bother at all.

Our only struggle was having enough impact up front, particularly in the first half, but Cokey’s worldie secured the three points and all of a sudden optimism abounds!

The early goal against Notts County got us nicely into a groove that the opposition couldn’t cope with.

Had Nuhiu not had his 50-pence-shaped head on we could have been four or five up at half-time - and Maghoma might have had a bagful of assists to his name.

The second half was pretty much as the first other than Nuhiu finally got the goal his effort deserved and that allowed SG to rest a few more to be ready for Saturday.

That will be an altogether tougher test.

Many people, including me, expect Derby to be up there this season and we will need to be at our very best if we are to prevail.

They have good players and a manager in Steve McClaren who has re-invented himself after the “Wally with the brolly” and comedy Dutch accent episodes of a few years ago.

But we should go into the game with confidence on the back of two wins and two good performances, and be fired up to avenge just a little bit the two defeats of last season.

Be there if you can be.
