Sheffield Wednesday to lock horns in game this week

The Owls will be facing Nottingham Forest on June 20th as league action resumes for the first time in over three months, and while other clubs face off in friendly games around the country, Garry Monk has been very clear on putting player safety first.
Speaking to the media recently, the Wednesday boss said that they wanted to limit contact with people outside their environment, explaining that it will be kept in-house at SWFC.

Hide AdMonk said at the time, “I think from a health perspective, with this virus, why would you invite a group of people from outside into your sterile environment? I don’t see why you would do that. We’ll do it in-house, that’s the safest way in terms of player welfare and looking after ourselves.”
With that in mind, The Star understands that that Monk will be putting his players through an in-club 11 v 11 game on Wednesday as he looks to see where each of his players are at before the restart as he weighs up who he feels should be starting the first game back.
It remains to be seen whether that game will take place at their Middlewood Road training grounds or at Hillsborough as Monk prepares his troops for behind-closed-door games, but it should give him a better idea of who he can rely on to get the job done in 11 days’ time.
