Sheffield Wednesday LIVE: Owls initiative gets supporters smiling | Former loan man released by Newcastle United | Millwall build-up

The feel-good factor on the pitch has been continuing despite what’s been going on off it and Sheffield Wednesday will take that into another tough test on Saturday when they travel to face Millwall.

Rotherham’s impressive win over Derby County last night has kept things tight at the bottom and the Lions, despite being in 14th place are definitely still looking over their shoulders.

Gary Rowett’s side may be eight places above the relegation zone but only six points separates them and the Millers.

Wednesday’s recent form has given cause for interim boss Neil Thompson to be given the job on a more permanent basis – perhaps to the end of the season and he has to be given credit for shielding the players and creating an environment in which they can go out and concentrate on playing, distancing themselves from everything else that’s going on around them.
