Sheffield Wednesday expect Leroy Lita to be fit for the start of pre-season.
He suffered a fractured cheekbone in the final game against Middlesbrough but this should heal in around six weeks.
The on-loan striker from Swansea had surgery on the injury after having to go off near the end of the 2-0 win against Boro.
It is uncertain whether he will be doing his pre-season with the Owls or Swansea as he was playing at Hillsborough only on loan.
Lita has felt more comfortable after his operation and thanked fans for their “amazing” support.
He was credited with his sixth goal in Wednesday colours on Saturday, after some confusion about whether or not a Lewis Buxton corner had gone straight into the net.
The Owls have yet to reveal whether they will try to keep the 28-year-old who was signed in January for the remainder of the season and has a year left on his Swansea contract.
Lita is one of five loan players who ended the season at Hillsborough but face some uncertainty about their futures. The others are defender or midfielder Danny Pugh, forwards Jeremy Helan and Steve Howard and midfielder Seyi Olofinjana.
