Nnamdi Ofoborh, 21, has seen his opportunities at the Dean Court club limited this season, having played a grand total of three Championship minutes in three substitute appearances.

The midfield man is reported to have been in talks with Rangers over a pre-contract deal given his contract is up in the summer.

But a number of second tier clubs are said to be circling on a potential temporary move while he sees out the rest of his time with the Cherries, according to Football Insider.

A versatile figure who can also play in defence, Ofoborh spent last season on loan with Wycombe Wanderers, who he helped secure a historic promotion to the Championship.

And the Chairboys are said to be one of the clubs said to be on alert for his signature along with Wednesday, Watford, Rotherham United and League One sides Lincoln City, Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic.

Asked about a move to Rangers for Ofoborh last week, Cherries boss Jason Tindall said: “I think so. The conversations I’ve had with Nnamdi, I think they are down the line on that one.

“I know it’s a club I think he would want to go and play for. It’s not as far down the line as what Jack is, but I think he is close to agreeing things to also go to Rangers.

“Credit to the football club and everyone that’s worked with Nnamdi, from where he was when he joined us to where he currently is now and to where he might end up, I think is great credit to everyone at this football club that’s helped him to achieve that.”

With the powerful youngster effectively moving on from the club and way down the pecking order with the promotion hopefuls, he could well move on today.

In theory, should his registration be completed in tie, if he were to complete a shock switch to Hillsborough, he could make his Owls debut at his parent club tomorrow evening.
