There has been plenty of talk on whether Fletcher, who missed out on the in-house friendlies at Hillsborough last week, was going to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, though indications are now that he is available.

The Scottish international will see his contract expire at the end of this month, and while he has been offered an extension until the end of the season, he’s made it through this week unscathed and with ‘no problems’.

In a preview on the official website today, SWFC said, “Steven Fletcher is available for the Owls after shrugging off a minor injury sustained in training last week. The club’s top scorer returned to training this week with no problems.

“The only injury concerns for Monk are loanee Josh Windass and striker Sam Winnall, who look set to miss out. Windass will be assessed by the end of the month before a decision is made regarding the extension of his loan from Wigan.”

The rest of the squad, bar Kieran Westwood (shoulder) is thought to be available.

Meanwhile, the club has been recognised for their matchday programme, revealing on Friday that they’ve ‘received notification this week that ‘Wednesday’ has been voted Championship Programme of the Year by Sports Trader magazine’.
