Key Sheffield Wednesday figure pushes door open for sometime Kevin Beadell return
Henrik Pedersen has pushed the door open on the possibility of working with Kevin Beadell in the future planning for Sheffield Wednesday’s resurgence.
The Owls recruitment chief will leave the club in the coming days after administrators advised him his rolling monthly consultancy contract would not be continued given their continued status in administration - and the fact the recruitment window is over. The Star understands Beadell was given the news over three weeks ago and was given clarity on the fact that the then-preferred bidders would not be requiring his services, preferring to take on their own recruitment model.
News of that bid’s withdrawal from proceedings has left some wondering whether Beadell, known to be a popular figure at S6, could make a return once a new owner is found. Wednesday’s recruitment arm has been praised for its repeat ability to get players through the door in difficult circumstances and often at short notice.

Fan concerns have been raised over the need for forward-planning ahead of what is set to be the busiest and most important summer transfer window in a generation. Wednesday’s squad will be in need of a complete revamp given their threadbare numbers, with many players approaching the end of their contracts.
Henrik Pedersen put on record his admiration for how Beadell has led on recruitment since arriving to S6 in December 2023 but made the point that until a new owner is sourced, any planning for the future in the interim would prove near-impossible.
“I have the biggest respect for Kevin and the job he has done for us,” the Dane said. “I have really enjoyed the cooperation with him. I think he is a very good man. Right now, as long as we do not have a new owner, we cannot plan for the future.”
Asked whether he’d welcome a return for the former Cardiff City man when the time comes, Pedersen said: “I think Kevin is a very experienced man and has a great network. He has done a great job for us. So, of course, to have him as a partner will also be good.”
