Will Keane is relishing the prospect of facing former club Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough tomorrow.
The striker spent the second half of last season on loan at the Championship club, scoring three times in 13 appearances.
And the Manchester United player moved to Preston North End over the summer. He has so featured on 10 occasions, scoring once, and is set to remain at Deepdale for the remainder of the campaign.
Keane said: “I enjoyed my time there and I’m still in touch with a few of the lads.
“The manager and some of the backroom staff have changed, they’ve signed a lot of new players so it will be a bit different.
“I’m looking forward to going back and putting in a good performance.
“Stevie May is in the same boat as myself, with him being at Wednesday last season.
“Our loyalities are with Preston now and we will be trying as hard as possible to get a win.
“Both Stevie and myself could do with a goal and that is what we will be looking to do.”
Injuries hindered the 22-year-old’s progress at Wednesday. He missed seven matches after suffering an ankle problem in the draw with Fulham last March.
He said: “I think the question was raised about maybe going back (to Wednesday) but the manager changed, as did the owner.
“They had their own ideas and brought in a lot of new players.
“I wanted to go to a club where I was going to be playing, that might not have been the case at Sheffield Wednesday.
“Preston was the right option for me this summer and I’m glad to be here.”
