MICHAIL Antonio is not the only one facing a reunion at Colchester tomorrow.
Danny Batth had a spell on loan with the U’s in the 2009-10 season and Dave Jones used to work with John Ward at Wolves.
Ward had been assistant to Colin Lee and caretaker manager at Molineux before Jones took over there in 2001.
Ward stayed on under Jones but left in 2003 to manage Cheltenham. He had earlier bossed York and both Bristol clubs, and after leaving Cheltenham he managed Carlisle before joining Colchester in 2010.
Jones said: “When I went to Wolves he was in charge for a couple of games. Then I took over as manager. John was with me for probably 16-18 months, then he wanted to have a go at management, He’d been a manager before. Once he didn’t get the Wolves job, it was a case of him waiting for an opportunity elsewhere.”
Jones added: “I have known and worked with him. I haven’t really kept in touch with him. In football that doesn’t really matter because one day you bump into somebody and it’s as if it’s been yesterday and you talk about what’s gone on.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him because I haven’t see him for a long time.”
