Xisco Munoz looks to have got his first man through the door in terms of building a technical team at Sheffield Wednesday, with a new face spotted at training.

Miguel Angel Munoz was seen on Wednesday alongside Miquel Gomila outside Hillsborough when the new Owls manager was unveiled this week, the former Watford boss being brought in as Darren Moore’s replacement at S6.

It was always expected that the 42-year-old from Manacor would be putting together a team after all of Moore’s staff left with him, and on Thursday a video released by the club has shown Miguel Angel working with the players at Middlewood Road.

The analyst and coach has worked with his brother at various different jobs over the years, following him to Watford and Huesca whilst also spending time at Valencia as well – it is unsure at this point exactly which role he will take on with the Owls, but previous jobs would suggest a potential position as a tactical analyst.

Wednesday’s new manager and his brother were seen putting the players through their paces alongside the likes of Head of Sports Science, Rob Lee, and First Team Strength and Conditioning Coach, Adam Yates.

The Owls take on York City at 1.30pm on Saturday, a game in which supporters will get their first look at the way that Munoz wants to play – though he hasn’t got too long to try and implement it before then.

Gomila, by the way, was a conditioning coach for Munoz during his time at Huesca in LaLiga.
