Sheffield Wednesday: Fitness update on Owls defender Daniel Pudil

Defender Daniel Pudil has been ruled out of Sheffield's Wednesday's Championship trip to Reading tomorrow.

Pudil is doing some training again after a groin problem but the clash at the Madejski Stadium, where the Owls will be looking for a third successive league triumph after wins over Millwall and Ipswich Town, comes too soon for the centre-half.

"Daniel has tried to train in the last two days but he is not 100 per cent free from pain," manager Jos Luhukay said.

Reading are in the relegation zone after failing to win any of their opening five league matches.

They lost their first three games, against Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Bolton Wanderers, before drawing with Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa.

Tomorrow's contest is the Owls' final fixture before the two-week international break and manager Jos Luhukay expects Pudil to be available when his side return to action at home to Stoke City on September 15.
