From playing at one of football’s great cathedrals to swimming with sting rays and sharks in Bora Bora.

It has been anything but a quiet summer for Fernando Forestieri.

Just a week after Wednesday’s Wembley defeat, Forestieri tied the knot with partner Andria.

The happy couple travelled to Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Bora Bora as part of their honeymoon.

It is still early days but married life is treating Wednesday’s star forward well.

Forestieri said: “At the moment, I feel so good. I have found one girl who is so beautiful.

“Andria helped me a lot before I came to Sheffield. She supported me in my decision and is next to me now to help my performance on the pitch. She’s like my coach at home!

“Everything is great. We had an amazing honeymoon. It was busy for me during the summer with my wedding and honeymoon. Everything went by in the blink of an eye.”

The wedding and honeymoon was the ideal pick-me-up for Forestieri after the Owls’ no-show in the Championship Play-Off final.

“We didn’t play well,” he conceded. “I didn’t play well in the final.

“We played so well home and away against Brighton in the semi-final so I just don’t understand what happened at Wembley. In 90 minutes, our dream went.

“I hope if we have a second chance at Wembley it will be better and we will take it.”

The Argentine-born player has been in red hot form in pre-season, hitting the back of the net in their victories over Chesterfield, Portuguese champions Benfica, CD Nacional and Port Vale. He also registered in their training match with Portimonense.

Forestieri, the Owls’ leading-scorer with 15 goals last season, said: “This season will be so hard.

“It will not be like last season as everyone can see what we did.

“There are some very strong teams in the Championship like Newcastle, Norwich, Aston Villa, Derby, QPR and Fulham.

“We have to focus on every single game and listen to what the manager wants us to do.”
