Sheffield Wednesday fans given season ticket reminder as deadline looms
Owls supporters should be aware of a key season ticket date looming
Sheffield Wednesday fans are being reminded about an important season ticket deadline.
Owls supporters have snapped up more than 17,000 season tickets for the 2026/2027 campaign in just a few weeks despite being back in League One. The club hopes they can break the 21,000 record and maybe push on towards 23,000. Clubs coming down from the Championship can spend 65% of turnover on wages in their first season in League One, compared to 50% for those not relegated, so every sale will contribute towards a healthier playing budget.
Several incentives, including 10% discounts on last year’s prices, expanded age bands and interest-free payment options have all proved popular so far.
Supporters are now being reminded that anyone who has not secured their seat by Monday, June 15 - the end of the first phase of sales when tickets are cheapest - risks losing it. The deadlines are 5pm at the ticket office and midnight online. Payment plans, which allow people to spread the cost over five equal, interest-free payments with zero set-up fees, are currently only available during the first phase of sales.
“The response from supporters following our season ticket launch last month has been nothing short of exceptional,” the club said. “For that, we thank you all as we look ahead with anticipation to a fresh era, a fresh start and excitement for the journey ahead.”
Meanwhile, a ticket fundraising scheme launched by the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust is closing in on the £40,000 mark. The initiative allows fans to donate the cost of a season ticket or a smaller amount so that less fortunate supporters can attend games. Earlier this week a mystery donor committed to matching donations received up to £35,000, which the trust said was ‘incredibly generous.’
