Wednesday fan David Richards is a proud man as his company become the Owls’ new home shirt sponsors.
The firm are WANdisco, software developers with bases in Sheffield and America.
Richards, co-founder and chief executive, said: “I am thoroughly delighted to align the WANdisco brand to that of Sheffield Wednesday.
“This club always has and always will have a place in my heart and I could hardly be more proud that the WANdisco logo will adorn the home shirt of the Owls.
“I would like to wish Dave Jones and the players the best of luck for the new season and look forward to an equally successful partnership between WANdisco and Sheffield Wednesday.”
Chairman Milan Mandaric said “We take great pride in our commercial partners and WANdisco is the ideal fit for Sheffield Wednesday.
“Quite apart from being co-founded by a supporter of our club, WANdisco are renowned worldwide in the software industry.
“In addition, I have a tangible connection with the company, given my own business background in Silicon Valley.
“On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to welcome WANdisco to the Sheffield Wednesday family.”
The new home shirt has also been revealed: it departs slightly from tradition in having an all-blue area just below the neck and above the familiar blue-and-white stripes.
