But the flying wing-back, who will likely continue as Sheffield Wednesday’s right-back against his former club on Saturday, has endured a stop-start first six months to his Hillsborough career.
Signed by Steve Bruce, who managed him at Hull City, Odubajo was perhaps the most well-known of all Wednesday’s summer signings but has found himself out of favour under Garry Monk, regaining his place only due to the three-match suspension of Liam Palmer after his red card at West Brom.

Early days these still are of course, but Saturday’s clash already feels like a seminal moment for the former Brentford man, who’s defensive aptitude has been questioned since an August horror show at Preston saw him give away two penalties in just over an hour on the field as the Owls lost 2-1.
Odubajo has shown glimpses of the attacking threat that so excited Wednesdayites when he arrived at the club in the summer.
A YouTube video of his highlights from his time at Hull and Brentford show him causing problems high up the field, either threatening the byline or releasing rasping shots at goal.

He looks confident, aggressive, assured of himself, and whether Monk’s safety-first philosophy will allow for him to bomb on or not, the wing-back surely needs to find a way of tapping back into that mindset.
If his place in the side is retained, Saturday won’t be the first time Odubajo faces a former team this season.
His performance at Hull was one of his best this season.
If Monk sticks with him for Brentford, Wednesday fans will hope he can reimagine that display.
With two chances to impress down, he has only one to go.
