The Owls dominated the majority of the match, with the diminutive pair taking them into half-time with a 2-0 lead.

But Cambridge hit back and grew into the game in the second half, setting up a nervy last 20 minutes when Reggie Lambe clawed one back.

“I had a lot of the ball and it took until his goal to register a shot,” said Delee, 23. “I could have made it more comfortable but I didn’t have too many worries about conceding.”

Delee went with Windass up top instead of fan favourite Steven Fletcher and felt his goal vindicated the decision.

He said: “It isn’t exactly like real football and on this FIFA the crossing and heading don’t work quite as well. All the player stats are the same but I prefer the smaller players. Josh and Fernando didn’t let me down!”

Wednesday will hope to be more clinical in the next round and Delee made no secret of who he wants to be drawn against: “There’s no question. Sheffield United. The occasion would be massive – it’s the one we all want!”

There’s a serious cause behind all this. The QuaranTeam tournament is raising money. 75% of everything raised will go to EFL clubs struggling with the loss of matchday revenue in this difficult time. 25% will be split between MIND and the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fundraiser.
