Reports suggest that Sheffield Wednesday could miss out on signing defender Jack Baldwin from Peterborough United.
The 25-year-old has agreed personal terms and a fee has been agreed between The Posh and Sunderland, according to the Sunderland Echo.
It is understood that Baldwin will undergo a medical with the Black Cats today, after they managed to re-negotiate a deal for the experienced League One defender.
Sheffield Wednesday were revealed to be in the race for Baldwin's signature after Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed he was a top target for Jos Luhukay.
Baldwin played 43 times in all competitions last season but had been put on the transfer list during the summer window.
Wednesdayites are still waiting for a signing after a number of players departed Hillsborough, but Luhukay has said he is happy with a reduced squad.
