The Owls, without a manager after the departure of Tony Pulis last month, offered contracts to senior men Adam Reach, Barry Bannan and Tom Lees in early December but these are yet to be signed as mystery over the next man into the Hillsborough hot seat goes on.
All three have been said to be keen to extend their deals and there is no glaring indication that there is any concern over whether that has changed.

Hide AdBut as they have entered into the last six months of their deals, clubs from abroad are now permitted to approach these players on free transfer terms.
Lees has possibly been Wednesday’s top performer this season and captain Bannan remains a talisman. Reach has hit a purple patch in his form and alongside the injured Dominic Iorfa would in the long term be one of the club’s most saleable assets.
The wide man scored a nicely-taken goal in the FA Cup win at Exeter City on Saturday and stand-in coach Andy Holdsworth praised the quality of the 27-year-old.
“Adam is Adam,” he said. “He scores wonder goals, he never scores tap-ins. And the good thing is that his movement to create his shots and his movement to get into the final third is elusive, he creates goals from it and shots from it. And wonder goals from it!

Speaking last month, Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri said he was confident of securing new deals for key players.
“We’ve started talking about extending contracts a while ago anyway, it’s not about the new manager - because we always say they need to fit our philosophy. So it’s not about that.”
“Not yet,” he explained. “You know agents try to make it difficult all the time. It’s not easy.”
