GIles Coke regards the Owls’ FA Cup slip-up as the biggest letdown of his career - and he is determined to make amends today.

The midfield player feels that a great opportunity was missed in the defeat by Charlton but an improved performance against Middlesbrough is the likely result.

“That was the biggest disappointment of my career, because it was the biggest game I’ve played in,” said the 27-year-old who had hoped for a quarter-final clash with United and a Wembley semi-final.

“I’m not happy with the way I played,” he admitted. “To play quite poorly in a big game like that really hurt me.

“I wanted it so much that maybe it affected my game. It meant a lot to me.

“There was a nervousness about us, because of how big a game it was. We didn’t perform, I was very disappointed, everybody was.

“It’s gone now; we can’t dwell on it. We look forward to the last 15 games we’ve got left in the Championship.

“You can’t take away how we’ve been doing in the league - we’ve played well, so I’m confident you’ll see a better performance.”
