Sheffield Wednesday chief gives his thoughts on the Championship promotion race

The Owls made a big statement of intent by beating automatic promotion candidates Leeds United 2-0 at Elland Road last weekend.

Jacob Murphy and substitute Atdhe Nuhiu bagged late goals to halt Wednesday's three-match losing Championship run and move them back into the play-off positions.

Only six points separate third-placed Brentford and 10th-placed Preston North End.

But Monk, whose side host mid-table Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, insists he is paying little attention to the table.

"All the teams are going to flip-flop around," he told The Star.

“You have a bad week and you can be out of it, we have a good week and we're back in.

"But it's great to be in that position (sixth). That's what we're fighting for."

Full-back Liam Palmer (ankle) remains a big injury doubt.
