WEDNESDAY midfield player Nejc Pecnik will avoid missing any club games because of his latest call-up by Slovenia.

His country have named him in the squad for an away friendly against Macedonia in Skopje on Wednesday, November 14.

The Owls have no midweek game that week and the Slovenia match falls in between the club’s trips to Middlesbrough a week tomorrow and Forest on Saturday, November 17.

Pecnik is due to join up with his Slovenia colleagues a week on Sunday.

He was in the squad for World Cup qualifiers against Cyprus and Albania last month and Norway in September.

He scored one of the goals in Tuesday’s 4-2 win for the Owls reserves against Doncaster at Middlewood and was on the bench for last Saturday’s 3-0 Championship win at Ipswich.Wednesday will find out today whether the decision to keep players and staff away from the training ground yesterday has worked in preventing the spread of a sickness bug.

The club are hoping that all the players will report back illness free before training resumes today.
