Lee Bullen, the Sheffield Wednesday coach, has expressed his delight at the progress Matt Young has made since moving to Carlisle United.
The right-back, formerly of Southampton, has featured seven times since joining the the League Two outfit on loan last month. Now the 21-year-old, who has yet to make a senior appearance for Owls, is set to remain at Brunton Park until the end of the season.
Bullen, who’s development squad travel to Leeds United today, kick-off 1pm, told The Star: “Matt is really enjoying himself. The loan move has been a real eye opener for him.
“Carlisle’s results have improved and I’ve spoken to a few people up there who have said Matt is well thought of and has done well.
“Until you’ve played first-team football, you have no idea how youngsters are going to react but we have had Matt watched and he’s acquitted himself well.
“For me, that’s me doing the job right. As much as I want us to perform well and win games at Under-21s level, I want Matt and Caolan [Lavery] to go and get games under their belt.”
