Sheffield Wednesday's next opponents sign former Owls trialist and transfer option
Sheffield Wednesday take on Bromley for the very first time this weekend.
The next opponents of Sheffield Wednesday have added another familiar name to their squad ahead of this weekend’s League One clash between the two sides at Hillsborough.
The Owls are set to stage their third match on the spin at S6 and will be hoping to bounce back from being edged-out by Bradford City and Wolves in front of a crowd expected to come in at the 30,000-mark. League One new boys Bromley announced the addition of well-known opponent of the Owls in George Saville yesterday - and have brought on board another addition.
Mickel Miller spent two years with Wednesday near-neighbours Rotherham United between 2020 and 2022 before stints with Plymouth Argyle and Huddersfield Town. The wing-back, now 30, trained and featured around the Sheffield Wednesday setup in 2017 following a non-league showcase via Jamie Vardy's V9 Academy, before heading to Scottish side Hamilton Academical and then heading into the EFL.
The speedster was also of interest to Wednesday in the summer of 2024 amid Danny Röhl’s rebuild of the squad ahead of his signing to Huddersfield.
Miller’s signing brings further third tier experience to a Bromley side who have taken four points from their opening two league fixtures after an opening day win at Barnsley and an away draw with Cambridge United.
