Brentford manager Thomas Frank admitted he was not sure what his defender Henry Rico was doing to give away the 69th-minute penalty that sparked Sheffield Wednesday’s comeback in their 2-1 comeback win.

The defender clearly handballed in a seemingly innocuous position in the minutes after a handful of Owls chances went begging.

And asked about the incident after the comeback, which is Wednesday’s first win from behind since April 2017, the Dane admitted he was nonplussed.

“It was a handball,” he said. “I haven’t asked him yet what happened.

“I don’t know if you can say he was unlucky or it was on purpose or whatever. The fact is it was a penalty. It was a strange penalty."
