Jos Luhukay believes the Owls carry momentum going forward following his side’s strong end to the 2017/18 season.
Wednesday secured a 15th-placed finish after recording and impressive six victories from their last nine Championship matches, including a 5-1 hammering of Norwich City.
Only runaway champions Wolverhampton Wanderers and promotion-chasing Fulham garnered more points in the same period.
Owls boss Luhukay told The Star: “We did a very good job in the last two and a half months (of the season).
“My staff, the medical team and the players did a good job together.
“We worked intensively as a team in the last few months and the results were positive, giving us confidence and trust for the future.
“We will try to take this momentum into next season. The players went away on their holidays with a good feeling after the Norwich game.
“We will try to take this atmosphere, character and attitude into pre-season and, of course, when we start the new season.”
