Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal has labelled Aston Villa as the best team in the Championship.
Villa, who entertain the Owls this weekend, climbed up to fifth after recording a 2-0 success at Preston North End on Wednesday night.
First half goals from James Chester and Robert Snodgrass secured Villa’s fifth win in their last seven outings and Steven Bruce’s side have yet to taste defeat on home soil this season.
Carvalhal told The Star: “We have maximum respect for probably the most strong opponent of the competition but we will go there to win.
“We are competitive and we like this kind of challenge. We go into every game trying to fight for the three points.
“We understand it will probably be the most difficult game of the season.”
Buoyed after their Hillsborough win over Millwall, Carvalhal is confident his players will give a good account of themselves at Villa Park.
“All the people will agree that Villa are probably the best team and players in the competition,” acknowledged Carvalhal, who confirmed full-back Daniel Pudil (hamstring) will be assessed today. “They don’t have too many weak points.
“Villa have some (weak points) like all the teams but have a lot of strong points.
“They have quality and a good coach but so do we.
“Let’s try to explore the weak points of Aston Villa.”
