Wednesday player Ash Baker made his Wales Under-21s debut against Liechtenstein tonight.
Baker played the full 90 minutes as Rob Page's side recorded a 2-1 victory in their European Championship qualifier.
Bridgend-born Baker, who has played three times for the Owls this season, was deployed in a defensive midfield role. He worked tirelessly in the centre, making a number of good tackles and he kept things simple in possession.
Forward George Thomas, on loan at Scunthorpe United from Leicester City, bagged a first half double to put Wales in control at Bangor's Nantporth Stadium.
Lukas Graber reduced Liechtenstein arrears in the 78th minute but the hosts held on for three vital points.
Wales host Portugal at the same venue on Tuesday, 11 September.
