Sheffield Wednesday announce surprise 'long-term' new kit sponsor

The club confirmed the news today, saying “Sheffield Wednesday are delighted to announce an exciting new long-term partnership with Italian technical sportswear provider Macron.

“Macron will supply the Owls’ official kit and training wear, with the deal commencing from 1 July 2021.

“The global sportwear brand has formed recent partnerships with some of Europe’s leading clubs, including Lazio, Red Star Belgrade, Nice and Real Sociedad as well as a raft of clubs on these shores. Macron also supply acclaimed kits for the Scottish, Welsh and Italian international rugby teams to name but a few.

“The partnership with Wednesday will see the Macron Hero take pride of place on our home and away shirts, as well as the new technical training, travel and accessories range.”

Meanwhile, a statement from Macron’s Chief Executive, Gianluca Pavanello, said: “We are so proud that such a historical club like Sheffield Wednesday has chosen to wear the Macron Hero.

“We have already established a great relationship with the club, which will certainly grow and develop in the future years we spend together. Sporting values, team spirit and commitment will allow us to reach our goals with hard work and a never give up attitude.
