The excitement may lay in the future for the Owls but Atdhe Nuhiu insists the squad remain very much focused on the now.
Wednesday currently sit comfortably in mid-table and appear to have very little to fight for over the remaining 11 games.
Couple that with Dejphon Chansiri’s takeover of the club and his desire to reach the Premier League by 2017, much of the talk surrounding the Owls centres on the summer and next season.
But Nuhiu says the squad are still determined to finish as high as possible by the end of this campaign, starting by picking up three points at Blackpool this afternoon.
“Everyone is looking forward to next season but we have a few more games to go and we want to get the best out of it,” the striker said.
“We’re still focused on the next game.
“We have to keep going and take as many points as we can.
“From last season we’ve had some amazing progress and we’ll keep that going to see how far we can get.
“Everyone here wants to win and we have the desire to win as many games as we can.
“As many points as we can take, we will take and at the end of the season we will see where we are.
“But we’re not finished with this season yet by far.”
Nuhiu has started the last four games for Wednesday and looks set to retain his place at Bloomfield Road this afternoon.
