Sheffield Wednesday v West Brom

Last updated: Saturday, 21 March, 2020, 16:56

  • Owls enter clash with promotion hopefuls off the back of consecutive draws against Forest and Bristol City
  • Massimo Luongo makes his first start in two months
  • Baggies without key man Metheus Pereira after injury at Brentford
  • Sawyers' free-kick opens the scoring for West Brom against the run of play
  • RED CARD! Johnstone is off for a foul on Harris in the box
  • And Fletcher equalises from the penalty! 1-1
  • Wednesday start the second half brightly and Palmer belts home a worldy for 40 yards
  • Austin scores a late equaliser for West Brom
  • Windass pulls the Owls ahead late on!
  • Dawson saves a late penalty with Barry Bannan sent off for his protests

Unreal! Right-handed, Dawson pushes it onto the post and into his own arms n the rebound.

It wasn't a good penalty from Austin but it took some saving. There can only be seconds remaining... Hillsborough is BOUNCING!

Bannan is off for his role in the protestations. It's a straight red. Pandemonium out there as Sawyers goads Lees. The referee calls both captains together.

He needs to get a grip here.

It'll be Austin with the pen..

Oh no. Sickening. Iorfa gets his feet in a tangle and brings down Grosicki.

Penalty to the league leaders. This happened at the Hawthorns in November..

It's Windass! From Fletcher's knockdown! From Palmer's ball over the top! From Iorfa's slicing challenge on Austin!

90' - There will be three minutes of extra time

Lee Bullen is going crazy with the fourth official. He thinks there should be more.

89' - Another Wednesday chance!

Windass this time! He jinks his way past Bartley and fires towards the top corner... Saved Bond!

What more do the Owls need to do?!

86' - Wednesday on the attack

Monk removes Fox and Alessio Da Cruz is on. They're going for this, league leaders or no league leaders.

And there's an immediate impact from the Dutchman, who finds Fletcher with his first touch. A one-two and it's wide to Harris, who shoots... JUST WIDE!

The crowd are bang up for this.

83' - Goal West Brom

A West Brom corner and nobody takes responsibility. Austin heads past a helpless Dawson.

Wednesday have thrown away another lead in the last ten minutes. 2-2.

81' - Chance West Brom

And just like that, West Brom come to life!

Krovinovic smashes one from nowhere and Dawson makes a fabulous save onto the post. Austin is there but can't connect properly and it dribbles wide.

Wednesday are looking to protect their lead. Wickham has been outstanding and leaves the field for young Alex Hunt, who enters the fray. It looks like five across the midfield here. Still 2-1 Owls after that Palmer stunner.
