It was reported last week that the 31-year-old was underdoing a medical at Wednesday ahead of a proposed move back to Sheffield, and it’s now believed that terms have been agreed and the deal is almost done.
Hutchinson has played over 150 games for the club in the past, and became available again late last year after it was announced that he had agreed a mutual termination of his contract with Pafos FC in Cyprus.

Meanwhile, regarding injury concerns, ‘Hutch’ was fit for pretty much the whole of his final season at Wednesday, missing out through Garry Monk’s selection rather than his unavailability.
Now, with the Owls well and truly in the midst of a relegation scrap, a fighter like Hutchinson will no doubt be welcomed with open arms to come in and help the cause.
While the terms of his contract are unknown, The Star is led to believe that he will be penning a deal until the end of the season with an option to extend at the end of it, giving him chance to show Neil Thompson – or whoever comes in as manager – what he’s capable of.
