Garry Monk speaks for first time about Owls axe

Plymouth Argyle manager Lowe has sprung to prominence after guiding the Pilgrims to League Two promotion in his first season with the club.

Argyle have enjoyed a good start to life in the third tier as well, and sit just outside the play-off positions in eighth place.

Before that, Lowe taken cash-strapped Bury to promotion from League Two as well in his first managerial role, meaning he has two promotions in two seasons on his CV.

Lowe had a spell as a player at Wednesday in 2011/12, scoring nine times in 30 games as the Owls gained promotion from League One under Dave Jones.

Chansiri, who sensationally sacked Monk on Monday night, is wighing up a host of options as he looks to get the right man in the Hillsborough dugout.

Pulis is believed to have held early conversations with the Wednesday hierarchy, while ex-Wigan boss Cook, another Owls old boy Nigel Pearson, and out-of-work former Championship managers Lee Johnson, David Wagner and Danny Cowley have all been linked with the job.

England legends Sol Campbell and Phil Neville are also names on the bookies’ shortlist.
