There was more late drama from the Owls as Anthony Musaba popped up in injury time to secure a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes, cancelling out Liam Kitching’s first half opener, however it counted for nought in the end as the Sky Blues got the job done from the spot after Wednesday failed to capitalise on Pierce Charles’ penalty save.
Jamal Lowe put his penalty over the bar and Olaf Kobacki saw his saved as Frank Lampard’s Coventry booked their spot in the next round of the competition, and there was certainly a mixed bag on the ratings front in what will have been a disappointed evening for the Owls at CBS Arena.
Here’s how we thought Wednesday’s players got on in their third round fixture:

13. Michael Ihiekwe - 7
On at the break for his first outing in yonks. Missed a huge chance with his head but defensively strong and tidy enough on the ball. | UGC

14. Jamal Lowe - 8
Did well to create himself a little space to get a shot off once on and kicked on in that vein. Was excellent - good touches, dangerous positioning. Put his hand up for more minutes. Missed from the spot. | UGC

15. Barry Bannan - 8
On for Gassama with 23 minutes left. Sought to put some intensity into things and did so, picking out some excellent balls and getting Wednesday moving with more swaz. | UGC

16. Olaf Kobacki - 5
On with 15 to go - and important step for him. Looked a little ring rusty at times - entirely understandable having missed so much football. Missed his pen. | UGC
