“Right now, I’ll play anywhere…” – Moses Odubajo on doing anything for three points after Tony Pulis shifts his position
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Odubajo became known as a right back or right wing back during his time in the Championship following a move to Brentford from Leyton Orient, but the former Hull City man racked up some serious numbers while playing further up the field before joining the Bees.
“I started off as a winger,” he told The Star today. “I moved to right back under Mark Warburton, and then Garry Monk went with the 3-5-2 and I played a bit in that.

“I think we’ll know exactly what the manager wants from us, and hopefully we can emulate that on the pitch.”
Pulis spoke of Odubajo’s pace as being the predominant factor in moving him to right wing in what looked like a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 formation against Preston, but maybe he also looked at the fact that ‘Mo’ got 12 goals and 10 assists back in 2013/14 – the last time he was played consistently as a winger.
When asked about that campaign, he replied, “I was a right winger when we got to Wembley (he scored on the final but they lost on penalties against Rotherham United). I enjoyed a great season that year, and then when I got to Brentford I sat down with Mark Warburton and he showed me the stats of when I’d played right back - he was the one who made me change my mind on playing higher up.

You have to go back to March 2015 to find the last time that Odubajo got himself on the scoresheet, but now, with a return to right wing, he’ll be eager to get off the mark for the Owls.
