All over - and one to forget in the end

The Owls are beaten, and rather comfortably in the end after Potts’ injury time strike.

They were somewhat fortunate to be ahead after Preston dominated the first half in chance terms. But they were carved open far too easily as they conceded the lead and then fell behind.

It was a disappointing evening’s work.

Potts makes it 3-1. That’s game over, and that has completed a truly awful evening for SWFC. Tidy finish as he beats Palmer, and the Owls have just lost it since the disallowed goal.

The structure they had prior to the goal has disappeared, and Garry Monk will not be a happy man.

Into stoppage time, and Pelupessy heads JUST wide after a swinging cross into the middle. It’s just not going is it?

Wednesday have huffed and puffed but it’s not been enough. Looking like another disappointing night at Hillsborough here.

Very Wednesday, right?

Lead when they probably don’t deserve it, lose the goalscorer, concede, have a goal disallowed, then concede again moments afterwards.

A Wednesday winner?! No! It’s ruled out.

Borner has it in the goal, but the referee says no. That’s controversial. Wednesday joy turns to despair. Maybe Pelupessy was judged to be interfering with the goalkeeper.

Guess what? Preston have just gone and scored. 2-1 PNE.

Injuries, injuries everywhere.

It’s become very scrappy out here as both sides look to try and get themselves a late winner at Hillsborough. Börner, Harris, Palmer have all been on the deck recently, and it’s a niggly game in these final stages.

You wouldn’t back against a winner here

This game is still so wide open and you would not be confident of it staying all square as we head into the final ten minutes.
