Here’s how we rated the Owls players...
5. Joey Pelupessy - 5
The work ethic and commitment is always there from the Dutchman. He was disciplined in the holding midfield role but offered no control or creativity from deep. Must do more to keep his place. Photo: Steve Ellis
6. Liam Palmer - 6
Was moved to left-back and gave as good as he got against the speedy Jacob Brown. Palmer stuck to his defensive duties but struggled to get forward and support the attack. Photo: Lewis Storey
7. Barry Bannan - 6
The little Scot worked tirelessly out of possession, putting in several key tackles to disrupt Barnsley's flow. However, Bannan found it difficult to dominate the ball and get his team up the pitch. Photo: Steve Ellis
8. Alessio Da Cruz - 6
Showed glimpses of his undoubted ability on the right hand side of Wednesday's fluid 4-2-3-1 formation. Spurned a glorious chance to cap his full debut with a goal when he volleyed Forestieri's pinpoint cross off target. Photo: Steve Ellis
