It is not a decision that anybody saw coming, but it has been confirmed that the Owls have officially parted ways with Pulis after Dejphon Chansiri decided that performances were not the ‘level expected’ since his arrival.
Pulis took Wednesday training on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s visit from Middlesbrough, but it now turns out he won’t be in charge of that game at Hillsborough.

Meanwhile, Chansiri said this evening, “The performances and results have not been of the level expected since Tony Pulis was appointed. There are also other issues which have had a bearing on this decision.
“On the pitch, seven points from a possible 30 is not acceptable. It is vital we maintain our Championship status and I feel I must make a change now with over half of the season remaining to give us the best possible chance of doing so.”
Neil Thompson, who has served the club for years now in various positions and was an assistant to Pulis and Garry Monk during their tenures, will take the reigns for the visit of Boro to Hillsborough, and he’ll be hoping to oversee a home victory to end what has been a tough 2020 for the Owls.
