Here are our predictions for all the matches involving sides locked in the relegation conversation as Sheffield Wednesday look to scramble their way out.

Birmingham City v Norwich City

Birmingham, fresh off just their second win in 15 matches at Hillsborough on Saturday, will still be without striker Sam Cosgrove whose recovery from an ankle injury continues.

Table-topping Norwich will be without a handful of players including defenders Ben Gibson and Sam Byram, but will hope to continue their charge having won each of their last three matches.

The Blues are three points ahead of Wednesday, meaning that if the Canaries clash was to go the way of the bookies, Wednesday would need a win at Brentford to leapfrog them on goal difference.

The Star says: Norwich win

Derby County v Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield, sinking like a stone in recent weeks, came out of nowhere over the weekend to finally turn performances into points and hammer title-chasing Swansea City in what was a huge shock.

Previously without a win in eight, the 4-1 win may well breathe new life into a Terriers side who sit seven points ahead of the drop zone and nine ahead of Wednesday. Their opponents Derby have done well in recent weeks, sitting fifth in the form table, but lost out to Watford last time out.

The Star says: Draw

Rotherham United v Nottingham Forest

Both a big part of the relegation conversation, Rotherham remain in the drop zone, just a point ahead of Wednesday, having won one of their last five in a disrupted season.

Forest have fared better in recent weeks, losing only two of their last 13 matches, a run that started with an accommodating 2-0 win over the Owls back in December.

The Star says: Forest win

Wycombe v Reading

They’re done, aren’t they? We’ve all enjoyed the Chairboys story but they’re 11 points shy of the safety places, rock bottom and eight back on Wednesday. It’s going to take a monumental effort to mount any sort of safety battle.

They have taken four points from their last three matches but Reading, who have the goal-hungry Lucas Joao bang in form after scoring six in their last nine, will fancy themselves.

The Star says: Reading win

Luton Town v Millwall

The Hatters have crept into the conversation having picked up only one win in their last six matches. They sit eight clear of the drop zone.

They’re struggling for goals, failing to score two in a game this year, and will come up against a Millwall side unbeaten in seven.

The Star says: Millwall win

Swansea City v Coventry City

They’d taken two points from a possible 18. They looked down and out. And then they beat Brentford. You’d love to see it, were it not bad for Wednesday.

Coventry’s 2-0 win over the Owls’ opponents this midweek will give them a major confidence boost, but Swansea are a wounded animal after their shock Huddersfield thrashing.

The Swans had lost once since November before that and you’d fancy them to get back to winning ways.

The Star says: Swansea win

..and finally – Brentford v Sheffield Wednesday

Form goes out of the window when it comes to Wednesday, doesn’t it?

Both sides head into the game having lost their last three matches. Brentford look a little shell-shocked without Ivan Toney leading their line.

A point would be a good result for the Owls. Why not eh?

The Star says: Draw

How would that leave things?

Very little difference in terms of changes in position, although Forest would leapfrog Luton to go 16th.

Wednesday would remain second-bottom heading into Saturday’s trip to Luton, but would go level on points with Rotherham and to within two points of safety.
