A lot has been said about the way in which Wolves have conducted their business this season as the league winners prepare to be handed their Championship crown.
They’ve brought in players who should really be nowhere near this level of football, spent a fair amount of cash and there have been rumblings of discontent from some club owners about the role of so-called super agent Jorge Mendes whose relationship with the club was approved by the EFL.
However, according to one Sheffield Wednesday star, who will be taking on the champions on Saturday, players from other clubs really don’t care how they are run.
And Barry Bannan feels the stature in which Wolves have placed themselves due to their form this season becomes nothing more than extra motivation to get one over on them.
“Me personally, I have heard once or twice a few things because I live down there but you never really look at things like that, it just drives you on to beat them more if anything,” said Bannan.
“Its not our jobs to be looking at the money side. Our job is to go out and beat them on Saturday.
“It’s an extra motivation if anything for teams in the league I would say.
“There are managers who have had loads of money to spend and struggled in the top leagues, you still have to pout an XI out there that can gel and play with each other and they have been brilliant.
“You can take nothing away from them. They are going to break the 100 point barrier and you have to take your hats off to them.”
