The Owls were miserable. These are our player ratings.

Cameron Dawson – 2

Despite two decent saves his struggles continued for Brentford’s opener when he parried to goalscorer Dasilva, who volleyed through his legs. His confidence is shot, his distribution was inadequate.

Morgan Fox – 3

Fairly absent on the left. Beaten too often.

Tom Lees – 2

Headed clear once or twice. I’m just looking for positives.

Dominic Iorfa – 3

Made a handful of clearances and was one of the few players to emerge with a morsel of credibility. Caught in possession by Brentford’s press once or twice.

Beaten all hands up by Benrahma and co. Powderpuff defending for the fourth.

Alessio Da Cruz – 2

Dispossessed ahead of the Brentford second trying to dribble his way out of his own box. Had moments going forward, but it goes down as yet another individual error. Hooked at half-time.

Barry Bannan – 2

Unable to influence things in the face of an ‘at-it’ Brentford midfield. Picked out one ball of quality to find Windass in the first half but evaporated along with the rest of his teammates.

Joey Pelupessy – 2

Enjoyed one well-struck shot but failed to break up play – his primary job. Lightweight throughout and failed to thread play together. Completely overrun.

Jacob Murphy – 4

Again, quite possibly the Owls’ brightest spark in a horrible outing. Made two crosses of real quality, neither of which were taken up on by a teammate. Faded as the game went on.

Operating in behind Fletcher, Windass started a couple of moves but nothing of any danger. Fluffed a half-decent chance. Hooked at half-time.

Steven Fletcher – 3

Headed over Wednesday’s best chance of the half. Frustrated. Substituted with fatigue, as if Wednesday need another concern to deal with.

Fernando Forestieri – 3

Battled hard but created little. Failed to create the sort of impact he was brought on for.

Connor Wickham – 2

Ineffective. Drove the ball forward once or twice but couldn’t get himself, or anyone else, going.

Had the guts to pick up the ball and run at players and looked like he wanted it. Created little.
