Despite being a global superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has never forgotten his old mates.
So after leading Real Madrid to Champions League glory in Cardiff, scoring twice in a 4-1 win over Juventus, the Portuguese genius made sure he had those close to him by his side. And amongst those was Sheffield Wednesday fans' favourite Jose Semedo.
The pair grew up together as young footballers and have remained close friends, so much so that Ronaldo brought Semedo onto the pitch with him following the historic victory to take part in the celebrations.
The forward posted a picture to his 103 million instagram followers featuring a few of Ronaldo's boyhood friends, with Owls midfielder Semedo in there wearing what appears to be a signed Real Madris shirt. The post has already received almost two million 'likes'.
Semedo is out of contract at Hillsborough at the end of this month but as reported in The Star, on Saturday, the Owls hero could be granted a new deal.
Ronaldo played a pivotal role in Madrid's success, bringing back-to-back titles to the Spanish giants and he said afterwards that there is plenty of life and more trophies in him yet.
"My age is just a number, I feel like a young boy," said the 32-year-old after being handed the man-of-the-match award by his former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
"I am very happy - an amazing season again. We've won trophies and of course it is one of the best moments of my career - I have the opportunity to say this every year but it's true!
"This season was amazing again, last season was amazing. I have two or three days to rest now then I have a qualifying game for Portugal.
"Then we have Confederations Cup (in Russia). It is a long season but I am motivated. I am happy, these are good moments."
