SHEFFIELD Wednesday are expected to make wholesale changes to the starting line-up for the trip to Oldham Athletic.

Boss Gary Megson is spoilt for choice, particularly defensively. Danny Batth is available for selection again after serving his one-match suspension for chalking up five bookings. Only Batth and Jose Semedo have started every single match in League One this term. Expect Batth to be given the nod while Megson faces a tough decision over who his partner should be at centre half.

Captain Rob Jones and new recruit Miguel Llera are the two candidates vying for the slot. Llera, on loan from Blackpool, was unable to feature in the victory against Aldershot because he was cup-tied. Jones started at Hillsborough on Saturday and helped the side record a third shut out in five matches. He and Batth have been the first-choice pairing for the majority of the 2011/12 campaign so it is likely Megson will keep faith with the duo at Boundary Park, meaning Llera will have to settle for a place on the substitutes bench.

Benin international Reda Johnson is set to be moved from the centre-back position to left-back, where he has been a revelation, so Julian Bennett will drop out.

With James O’Connor ruled out for the Roses clash after sustaining a nasty gash on his shin in training last week, Megson has David Prutton, Liam Palmer, Chris Sedgwick and Jermaine Johnson in contention for a berth on the right-hand side of midfield.

Influential playmaker Ben Marshall is expected to return after missing the Shots cup tie on the left flank. Arsenal loanee Sanchez Watt may be named on the bench, with Megson set to resist the temptation to alter his strikers.
