5. L: THOMAS FRANK - (Brentford)
Having missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, Brentford have lost star man Ollie Watkins and could lose striker Said Benrahma and goalkeeper David Raya. The London club then lost 1-0 to Birmingham City - a bad summer for manager Thomas Frank. Photo: Catherine Ivill
6. W: ZACH JEACOCK - (Birmingham City)
Birmingham head coach Aitor Karanka hailed rookie goalkeeper Zach Jeacock after his heroics helped them beat Brentford - but did hint he could lose his place to new signing Neil Etheridge. He said: “For sure he [Etheridge] will play, but today I didn’t have any doubts that Zach wouldn’t be our keeper. “He is on the pitch like he is on the training ground, and he has a very bright future. 7. L: BRITT ASSOMBOLONGA - (Middlesbrough)
Middlesbrough created a few decent chances against newly-relegated Watford, most of which fell to captain Britt Assombalonga, who could not find a way past Ben Foster as his side slipped to a 1-0 defeat. Photo: George Wood
8. L: RICHARD STEARMAN - (Huddersfield Town)
The Huddersfield Town man made a late costly mistake which led to Norwich City netting the only goal of the game. However, boss Carlos Corberan has refused to blame Richard Stearman for the loss. He said: “It is part of life and part of the game. He doesn’t need to say anything to us.” Photo: Michael Regan
