Sheffield Wednesday vice-captain Jose Semedo will team up with Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion campaign, to discuss the role religion has to play in the professional game, at Hillsborough on October 10.

The free forum, entitled ‘A Focus on Faith’, will see midfielder Semedo, a player of Christian faith, joining Wednesday club chaplain Peter Allen, a leading representative of Sheffield Sport Chaplaincy and Sports Chaplaincy UK, to deliver a speech on how sport can help break down faith-related barriers.

Running from 10am-2pm, the event is aimed at individuals of all faiths across every level of the game, and takes place in the lead up to the One Game, One Community weeks of action which runs from 18-29 October.

The forum will also feature a presentation from Sheffield and Hallamshire FA, interactive interfaith workshops and a Q&A panel session.
