GARY Megson was today charged with “improper conduct” by the FA.
It follows the sending-off of the Owls manager during last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Dagenham and Redbridge.
He has until 4pm on Thursday to respond to the charge.
Megson had already written a letter of complaint to the FA about the match officials’ conduct - not arising from a disputed penalty award, but from other controversial incidents.
The Owls chief accused referee Steve Rushton of being influenced by Dagenham manager John Still at half time and described his performance as pathetic.
Megson has said he was also unhappy about Rob Jones being told by the referee to leave the field, after the defender had been told by the fourth official that he could go back on.
The Wednesday boss is likely to face a fine or touchline ban if he is found guilty.
