The Owls are looking to put behind them two disappointing defeats and claw some ground back on the playoff places.

They welcome Plymouth Argyle to Hillsborough tomorrow, a team that seem to have had the wood over them so far this season.

Skipper Barry Bannan and manager Darren Moore will handle the questions from the media. Keep it locked to the blog below for up-to-the-minute updates.

Sheffield Wednesday press day LIVE - Barry Bannan and Darren Moore face the media

BB on difference between the top teams and ninth

“I don’t follow those teams too much, but injuries to key players is where we’ve had ups and downs. Centre-halves, Josh Windass, Dom Iorfa.

“If any of those teams lost those players they’d struggle as well.

“We’ve got them coming back now and we’re looking forward to the games we’ve coming up.”

BB on fan furstration

“They have every right.

“Going to Shrewsbury, they were spot on venting their frustration. They’ve paid good money.”

Barry is here.. first Q on Sunderland / Shrewsbury

“We weren’t good enough and at Sunderland not having a recognised centre-half was a problem against Sunderland.

“There were a lot of balls in the box and as the season goes on that sort of thing does catch up with you. Shrewsbury was similar. We had all the ball but never looked like scoring.

“We should have scored more. We get willed into trying to score the perfect goal, we should have put more crosses into the box and shot more. It was disappointing. We needed a good response but never got that. We weren’t good enough.”

DM on whether they’ve underachieved if they don’t finish top six

“There’s so much football. Let’s just see where we end up at the end of the season.

“We feel there is so much football to be played and we’ve planned and prepared as best we can. We’ve got an exciting game to look forward to.”

DM on Ciaran Brennan

“We’re in advanced talks already and we’ll see how the next few days go with regard to him.”

“I’ve said it before. In terms of his attitude and desire, he’s superb.

“He’s trying too hard. He’s wanting to score and get himself on the teamsheet and get into those positions. He’s been wanting to showcase that here at Wednesday and he’s trying too hard. He’s getting uptight really.

“He keeps working, he’s listening and is carrying all those characteristics. He’s wanting to do the right things.

“We’ve got a lot of options. Long hold that competition.”

DM on Windass / Gibson

“It would be a great lift to get Josh back because he’s a good player. Hopefully we’ll get him back this weekend. We’ll see how he is.

“Lewis Gibson is back in training with Everton at the moment, but he is back in training. From Lewis’ point of view it’s about building that volume and getting some match minutes in where he can compete again.

“He’s back in training but it’s too early to put your finger on a timescale. We’ll stay in contact with Everton.”

“It’s about the continuity of the group. Neil knows the academy and his experience at the club. He’ll work wonderfully between the two teams.

“With regards to the first team coaching set-up, there’s no immediate plan. We feel though Thommo can lend a hand when he sees fit.”

DM on why things haven’t moved so much in the window

“It’s clubs not allowing players to come. We want players not just in central defence but in other areas. We need cooperation for that to happen.

“The other clubs don’t owe Sheffield Wednesday everything. Would we be asking for players if we were all fit and well? We wouldn’t. We need to readdress the balance of it.

“To get those players over the line with the red tape, it’s unbelievable. If you knew it would be mind-boggling. Getting them over the line, it’s hard.

“I can’t say anything is imminent. It’s a minefield. Some are straight forward but the majority as I know, there’s always so much work in them.”

DM on training / performances

“The players over the course of the time have been working. We’ve showcased that time. We’ve been calling for consistency.

“It’s about sustaining that pressure on the opposition. We have moments in games, but we’re looking for more consistent moments.

“We know in this division. It’s about playing football and playing a percentage game. It’s each to their own. We want to implement a style of play. That’s football for you.

“There are moments, there are games this season and there has been nothing. We’ve played really well and let teams in. We’re trying to get better at who we are and what we are.”
