Owls boss Garry Monk has spoken of his excitement at pitting his wits against City manager Pep Guardiola but gave little away when it came to possible team selection.
Our man Alex Miller had a go at selecting his Owls side.
1. GK - Cameron Dawson
Garry Monk has said time and again that Cameron Dawson is his man between the sticks and after a couple of disappointing moments in the defeat against Derby, he'll be desperate to continue his long run of appearances. Photo: George Wood
2. LB - Morgan Fox
A key man in this Sheffield Wednesday side and one of Monk's head boys, Fox's defensive capability and leadership qualities will be key to Wednesday's attempts to springing an upset. Photo: Steve Ellis
3. CB - Dominic Iorfa
The centre-half, left out of the starting 11 for the Owls' past two matches, once again showed his class at the back in the second half of Saturday's defeat to Derby. His pace, power and athleticism will be key against City's front three. Photo: Nathan Stirk
4. CB - Julian Borner
Like so many key Wednesday men, Borner has been far from his best of late. But with Tom Lees on the naughty step after a poor showing last time out, the German could retain his place. Photo: Steve Ellis
